Henry Locke 1847 – 1881

Henry Lock was born 1847 in Ryhall, Rutland, the son of John Lock and Sarah Burton. He was baptised on the 18 July 1847 at Ryhall.

He died on the 4 November 1881 at Melton Mowbray and left the following last will and testament (transcribed as follows)

 This is the last will and testament of me Henry Locke of Melton Mowbray in the County of Leicester, Baker. I hereby revoke all testamentary dispositions heretofore made by me. I devise and bequeath all my real and personal estate unto and to the use of my Brother James Locke and my Sister Susan Locke their executors administrators and assigns in equal shares. I appoint the said James Locke and Susan Locke executor and executrix of this my will in witness whereof I the said Henry Locke have hereunto set my hand this third day of November One Thousand Eight Hundred and Eighty One.

Signed and acknowledged by the said Henry Locke the testator as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us – present at the same time in his presence at his request and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses;

Proved at Leicester on the Thirteenth day of December 1881 by the oaths of James Locke, the brother and Susan Locke, spinster, the sister, the executors to whom administration was granted.
The testator Henry Locke was late of Melton Mowbray in the County of Leicester, Baker and died on the Fourth day of November 1881 at Melton Mowbray aforesaid
