In the Name of God, Amen. I Edward Lock of Exton in the County of Rutland being in perfect memory (praised be God) do make my last Will and Testament in Manner following. In the first, resign & recommend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God, & my Body to the Earth; trusting & hoping in the Infinite Mercies of God, for a Resurrection to Eternal Life, through the Merits and Mediation of my Blessed Lord & Saviour Jesus Christ. All my Personal Estate, which it has pleased God to bestow on me, of what Nature or kind soever, I give bequeath and dispose of (subject to the payments of the Legacies hereafter mentioned) unto my Wife Mary Lock whom I do make and constitute Sole Executrix of this my last Will & Testament. I give to Jn Windsor (after my Wifes decease) my House att Leicester, upon his paying off the Mortgage. Item I give to John Rudkin the last half years rent, viz three pounds ten shillings of ye land that William Pilkinton has took of me, to be divided between him & his two Children, viz One Pound ten shillings to each child, & the remaining ten shillings for himself. Item I give to Edward [Richard crossed out] Scott & John Scott the residue of my Effects to be divided between them, as my Wife Mary Lock shall think meet & convenient. And do revoke all former Wills & Testaments & declare this to be my Last Will & Testament.
