Let all men know by these presents that we, Issabell Locke of Deeping St James in the county of Lincoln, widow, Gregory Stawper* of Corby in the same county, yeoman, and Edward Plumpton of Deeping aforesaid in the aforesaid county of Lincoln, baker, are held and firmly bound to the Reverend in Christ, Prince and Lord, Lord Richard, by divine providence Bishop of Lincoln, in (the sum of) seventy pounds of good and lawful money of England to be paid to him the same Reverend Lord or to his certain attorney, successor, administrator or assigns; for this very payment to be made we bind ourselves, and any of us, for the whole and undivided sum, (and we bind) our heirs, executors and administrators firmly by these presents. The condicion of this obligacion is such that yf the above bounden Isabell Locke doe well and trulye administer all and singuler the goods and chattells of John Locke late of Deepinge in the countye of Lincoln her late husband deceased: in payinge his debts and legacies (yf any such bee) so farre as his said goods and chattells will extend and as the law shall binde her And of all and singuler the said deceaseds goods and chattells doe make and exhibite into the Lord Bishopps principall Registry at Lincoln a true and pfect Inventorye, And there render and make a faithfull & iust Accompte whensoever shee shalbe thereunto lawfully by thordinancye of the Diocesse of Lincoln for the time beinge called or required And such parte and porcion some or somes of money as uppon her said Accompte beinge first examed and allowed by the said ordinary shall remaine in her hands doe well and trulye pay and distribute to and amongst such pson and psons in such manner and forme and at such time and place as the ordinary of the dioces aforesaide for the time beinge in his discretion shall assigne & appointe: And lastlye doe keepe harmeles the abovenamed Lord Bishopp of Lincoln and all his officers and ministers against all psons for all thinges concerninge the grauntinge of the said lres of administracion of the said deceaseds goods and chattells to her the said Isabell Locke: Then this pnte obligacion to be void or els to remaine in full force and vertue //
